A repeat of our third round saw another chance for someone to strike their claim on top of the league, while a second consecutive Sydney derby was a chance to catch up to the top two.
In another incredibly tight and tense match-up, the Newcastle Jets Powerchair Football Club and Hills United Football Club Reserve Grade teams found themselves locked in another goalless draw, but each side would be satisfied with a point.
In the Premier League match-up, a rejigged Jets defence gave Hills a new challenge. Karim found Suffield for the team in yellow, a flashy spin to score near the post mid-way through the first, before Cross found Karim from the sideline to double the advantage. The Jets found their feet late, but couldn’t make their opportunities count on the scoreboard. The win would see Hills go 3 points clear on top of the table.
The second of our Sydney derbies saw early goals in each half to the Sydney FC Powerchair Team Reserve Grade side, with Harry Simmons and Shannon Anlezark finding the back of the net. A long-range Daniel O’Brien strike gave the Western Sydney Wanderers Powerchair Team a sniff, with a late charge not enough to even scores up. The result leaves 2 points between all 4 Reserve Grade teams.
A brace to Ben Keyte for the red and black, with goals to open each half from classy set plays was enough for the Premier League side to hold off a spirited sky blue outfit, with the Wanderers’ result helping them claw back closer to the top two, with a match against Newcastle in Round 5 giving them another opportunity to rejoin the fight at the top of the table.
