The NSWPFA Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) is designed to teach new and developing athletes the skills to have fun playing powerchair football. SAP includes weekly skill sessions and practice matches to teach new athletes the ins and outs of our game.
For first-time participants, Come and Try sessions run on the first Saturday of each month, and are a great opportunity to drive a Strike Force powerchair and get a feel for the game.

Skill Acquisition Program (SAP)
Our SAP Sessions are run by our dedicated coaches and aim to teach athletes the skills needed to play powerchair at the best of their abilities, be that at a social or competitive level. SAP Sessions begin at 1 pm every match day.
We focus on essential skills like chair control, positioning, dribbling, passing and shooting in a fun and encouraging environment. Every session ends with a fun game to put those skills into practice.
SAP will help set you up to advance into our Reserve Grade competition, or give you the knowledge to have more fun playing.
Come and Try Sessions
Running on the first Saturday of each month, our Come and Try sessions are dedicated to getting new athletes familiar with our sport.
Starting at 10 am, these sessions involve giving new athletes their first drive in a Strike Force. We help adjust equipment to get you comfortable then slowly build your confidence with chair control and basic ball exercises.
If you enjoy your first experience and want to learn more, we encourage you to attend our SAP sessions for more intensive training and to experience what a match feels like.
