Poweroos Win Asia Pacific Championship | Push for Brisbane 2032

Australia’s national Powerchair Football team, the Poweroos, have once again shown why they are among the best in the region.

At the 2025 Asia Pacific Oceania Championship, the Poweroos defeated Japan in an exciting final to retain the title and be crowned Asia Pacific Oceania Champions. The win also secured Australia qualification for the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in Argentina, where the team will compete against the world’s best. It was a fantastic result for Australian Powerchair Football and a proud moment for players, coaches and the wider community who continue to support the growth of the sport.

The Next Goal: Brisbane 2032

Despite its growth around the world, Powerchair Football is not yet part of the Paralympic Games. With the Brisbane 2032 Paralympics on the horizon, the global Powerchair Football community is working together to change that. Athletes and supporters are calling for the sport to be included in the Paralympic program so players who use powerchairs can compete on the world’s biggest sporting stage.
